The Memories
175-AT9
[Saloon]
(Three
jetcraft scream overhead. Inside, there is an arm wrestling match going
on, to much shouting and screaming. Two gangster leaders, a man and an
Asian woman, are amongst the loudest.)
BOZIM: Take him down! I'm going to kick your butt!
LUNAH: Shut up! Let's go! Go! Go!
HARPER: Pretty soon, the money I make off these chumps isn't going to
be worth the money I make off them.
BEKA: I'd say that's right about any minute now.
(The jetcraft scream overhead, rattling the glasses.)
RHADE: You seen them fly? Maniacs.
LUNAH: Yeah!
BOZIM: This time. This time. But next time. I told you! What did I tell
you?
HUNT: Bozim hates being number two. One of these days, he's going to
stab her in the back.
RHADE: Not a bad idea. Like I said, maniacs.
(The saloon goes quiet. Something big is coming in.)
HUNT: That doesn't sound right, and it's coming in fast.
HARPER: I'll stash the breakables.
[Town]
(A ship
is burning through the atmosphere.)
HUNT: Get down!
(It crashes through a roof and lands in the square.)
RHADE: Like I said, these guys are maniacs.
HUNT: It's not one of theirs.
RHADE: Huh?
(A man touches one of the booster rockets.)
MAN: Ow! Hot!
(Hunt, Beka and Rhade draw their weapons as the ship's door opens. Out
staggers -)
HUNT: Flavin?
FLAVIN: In the flesh. And very happy to still be with the living.
RHADE: And here I thought you were gone for good.
FLAVIN: I missed our heartwarming and informative conversations, Rhade.
I had to come back.
HUNT: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait. You told me that people can come
and go from Seefra, but they don't come back.
FLAVIN: That just proves that I'm not the only one who makes mistakes.
HUNT: I don't make mistakes.
BOZIM: There's probably enough techno in there to make us rich.
LUNAH: Hmm. Make me rich. You take what I give you.
FLAVIN: You have no idea.
HUNT: Come on, now, Lunah. Must you lay claim to everything that's not
yours?
LUNAH: Back off.
HUNT: Rhade. Would you mind taking Flavin inside Mister Harper's fine
establishment? Please.
RHADE: My pleasure. We can catch up on some heartwarming conversation.
Have fun.
(As they walk away, Flavin drops a couple of small devices.)
BOZIM: Start moving, Hunt, if living's your preference.
HUNT: Hey, I love life
(He extends a pair of forcelances.)
HUNT: Because dying is not much of a living.
(And instantly disarms Bozim and Lunah.)
[Saloon]
HUNT:
All right, Flavin. Good news or bad news?
FLAVIN: A little of both.
HARPER: Okay, does this have anything, anything at all, to do with us
getting out of here?
FLAVIN: Yes.
HARPER: Yes! I knew this was our lucky day.
FLAVIN: And no.
HARPER: I knew we were screwed.
FLAVIN: I need to speak with the Captain.
RHADE: I was leaving anyway.
BEKA: I'm not listening. I'm not.
HUNT: First things first. You left here in a slipfighter.
FLAVIN: Big mistake, trading that ship.
HUNT: No kidding. That one has landing problems. So where'd you get it?
FLAVIN: Out there. Way, way, way out. In the end, though, they made me
come back.
HUNT: More specific, please?
FLAVIN: The Paradine what's left of them. Oh yes, they're leaving while
the getting's good.
HUNT: Okay, that's the bad news? So why are they leaving and where are
they leaving from?
FLAVIN: Long story.
HUNT: I'm sure.
FLAVIN: All I can tell you, it's what needs to happen for other things
to happen, for other things, etcetera. Interdependent origination.
HUNT: Whatever. What is the good news?
FLAVIN: Well, you are, dear one, of course. You are the good news.
HUNT: Why can't I ever get a straight answer out of you?
FLAVIN: You'll get your answer, but we'll need transport to find it.
BEKA: I'm in. But I wasn't listening.
[Town]
(The
gangsters are trying to shoot their way into Flavin's ship.)
BOZIM: Our weapons don't even dent it.
(Then he and Lunah spot the two objects Flavin dropped, and dive for
them. They get one each.)
BOZIM: Same markings as the alien craft.
LUNAH: I think it's a key.
(They try them on the ship.)
LUNAH: I think it needs both. Put yours in.
BOZIM: Wait a minute. When my squad joined in with yours, we agreed
fifty fifty splitties.
(Rhade watches the pair draw weapons on each other.)
BOZIM: You shoot me, I shoot you. How's that sound?
LUNAH: You couldn't kill
RHADE: Idiots.
HARPER: Hare brains with hair triggers. Kind of like somebody else I
know. All right, so if Flavin made it to slipstream in this piece of
junk, I'll bet I can rig it to get us out of here.
RHADE: You have to get in first.
HARPER: Well, I figure a couple of pals working together ought to crack
it.
LUNAH: Are you going to make a decision?
RHADE: Who says I'm your pal?
HARPER: Believe me, I was using the term loosely. It is, however, a
technicality we can live with. Thanks, though, for being so honest.
Appreciate it.
RHADE: Count on it, Harper. Always.
HARPER: How did I ever end up here? Dylan, if you find a way off
Seefra, don't forget your friends. Some of us, anyway.
[Eureka
Maru]
BEKA: So
er, Flavin, you have no particular attachment to your ship now, right?
HUNT: Beka.
BEKA: what? Well, he doesn't want it. It's a total wreck now.
FLAVIN: What you find inside it, Beka, may surprise you more than you
know. Same goes for you. Your greatest surprise lies inside. Are you
ready for that journey?
HUNT: I'm listening.
FLAVIN: We must undertake a three part journey, dear one. To the past,
to the present, and to the future.
HUNT: I'd go anywhere if you just made some sense.
[Saloon]
LUNAH:
Gwaro, food, now!
HARPER: You want to play hard to get with her. Drives her crazy.
RHADE: Not bad. Bozim's not with her.
LUNAH: Food! Gwaro.
HARPER: See, woman can't leave me alone. It works.
RHADE: Amazing.
FLECKS: Where are you heading, Toe Jam?
RHADE: I've got something Lunah wants real bad.
FLECKS: Time to go, Peewee.
(Rhade disarms him.)
RHADE: I guess you don't want the other key.
LUNAH: Show me.
[Town]
RHADE:
Bozim! Needle-nosed space idiot. I've got a message for you. I had a
bet with Lunah that you'd all be napping, but you're only half asleep.
BOZIM: Who the hell are you?
RHADE: I am the beginning of the end.
BOZIM: Get rid of him.
RHADE: Listen, guys, can you tell me what day of the week is it?
Yesterday, I did laundry. Tomorrow, I'm going to send a letter to my
mother. So today? Today must be stunday.
(And thumps thug's heads together. Then a big thug with a studded mace
comes forward.)
RHADE: What you got, Mongo?
GLUX: Glux is who I am, and this is what I got.
RHADE: Wow.
(Glux crumples after just one knee to a certain part of his anatomy.
Rhade then deals with other thugs. Glux tries again with a lump hammer,
and gets hammered.)
RHADE: Anyone else?
[Saloon]
LUNAH:
All right. How much?
RHADE: What I'm worth.
LUNAH: Hmm. Five hundred canaa.
(Rhade laughs and turns back to the bar.)
LUNAH: One thousand. Two thousand. Twenty five hundred.
(Rhade walks to the door.)
LUNAH: Five thousand canaa.
RHADE: Plus a third of whatever's on the ship.
[Eureka
Maru]
BEKA:
Er, Dylan? We're being targeted.
HUNT: Great. Lunah's lugheads. Just another day in paradise.
BEKA: Dylan, I don't know. These guys, I can't hit them. They're all
over the place.
HUNT: That one's way too close. He crashed into us!
BEKA: Losing altitude fast.
HUNT: Hold on.
[Saloon]
(Rhade
and Lunah are arm in arm. He appears to be drunk.)
LUNAH: I'm going to love watching you tear Bozim from limb to bloated
limb.
RHADE: And here I thought you weren't romantic.
(Rhade kisses Lunah.)
RHADE: I'll tell you what. Tomorrow morning, we raid Bozim's camp, get
the other key.
LUNAH: Until then?
RHADE: We seal the deal. To your left.
(He pulls the curtain across the doorway and follows her.)
[Eureka
Maru]
(They
land.)
HUNT: Is everybody okay?
BEKA: Well, distribution panel's stripped.
HUNT: Well, at least you got us down in one piece. Good work, Beka.
BEKA: Thanks.
FLAVIN: You know where we are, don't you?
HUNT: Yes. This is near where I grew up. Now, we've been down this road
before, Flavin.
BEKA: Well if you two are into a walk down memory lane, go ahead. It's
going to take me a little while here. Just be careful.
It looks like two of the other ships landed nearby.
FLAVIN: We need to go.
HUNT: This is me giving you one more chance.
[Saloon]
(In the
back of the saloon, Lunah leaves the apparently sleeping Rhade and
picks up her card playing henchman.)
HARPER: Got to go.
LUNAH: Marked.
(Her man pulls a gun and the cardsharp leaves.)
LUNAH: Good thing I love a cheat, and I just thought up a great one.
Once Rhade gets us the other key, we kill him. Then we get inside the
crashed ship, strip it, make us some real change.
(Rhade has overheard.)
RHADE: Kill him. Huh.
[Town]
RHADE:
Deliver it fast.
HARPER: First dibs on whatever's inside that baby. Three items?
RHADE: Two, we said.
HARPER: What?
RHADE: You want a broken up bar?
(Harper takes a metal tube from Rhade.)
HARPER: All right. Fine.
(Harper leaves and Lunah appears to watch as Rhade shouts at Bozim,
carousing with women under some cargo netting.)
RHADE: Bum face! Out here, now. Lunah paid me five thousand for your
key. But do you know what?
(Rhade throws the notes into the air, and the people rush to grab
them.)
RHADE: For ten thousand, I'll come to your side. Live or die today. You
decide.
BOZIM: I'll pay you ten.
RHADE: Lunah, never kiss and tell. You want to hand me your key, or
should I come and get it?
LUNAH: I have more men than you.
BOZIM: Rhade is worth ten men.
(Lunah slaps Glux and walks away.)
BOZIM: Rhade is my warrior!
[Hunt's
first home]
FLAVIN:
Your childhood home. Hold on to your past. Grip it tightly. For a
Paradine, loss is central to everything.
HUNT: Well then, I'm very centred.
FLAVIN: But your drive is still to turn every loss into a gain.
HUNT: It's how I stay alive.
FLAVIN: It's why you're still here, wrestling, straining, till your
face is bright red with the effort. That's good. You carry your past
with you. To perfect your abilities, you've got to find the space
between what you've won and what you've lost.
HUNT: Time for more riddles, Flavin?
FLAVIN: Find a place without opposites. If you could retrieve all
you've lost, what would that mean to you?
HUNT: Everything.
FLAVIN: Time and space are malleable, Dylan. It's conceivable you could
return to a time when they were here.
HUNT: The past is past. It's the future that I care about.
FLAVIN: You've got to hold on to both. Our friends are back.
(Shooting starts behind them.)
HUNT: Well, right now, we should just focus on staying alive in the
present. Let's get back to the Maru.
[Eureka
Maru]
HUNT:
Beka, get us out of here!
BEKA: Here's hoping.
HUNT: Trance. Giving you a heads up. We're going to be coming in fast.
Get the Andromeda ready.
TRANCE [OC]: I'll be there for you, Dylan.
[Command]
TRANCE:
I'll be there for you. I say it time and again, and I think it does
more to make me feel better than it does him.
ANDROMEDA [on viewscreen]: If Captain Hunt arrives under attack, I have
no way to protect him.
TRANCE: I feel that I should be enough. Forever.
ANDROMEDA [on viewscreen]: That does not compute.
[Saloon]
FLECKS:
A set up from the start. And you were part of it.
HARPER: Tell you what. since you're in such a good mood, why don't we
say drinks are on the house for the rest of the night until you pass
out?
FLECKS: Are you making fun of me?
HARPER: No, not you specifically, but the day is still young. Doyle!
Good timing.
DOYLE: You're going to want to let go of him.
(The thug drops Harper.)
FLECKS: Look at this. Comfort food.
(Doyle knocks him out with one punch.)
DOYLE: I hear there's an offer for someone who can fight.
[Town]
BOZIM:
Boys, why don't you go say hello?
DOYLE: Sorry, you know, about before.
(Doyle holds out her hand to the thug, and uses the other to bend the
barrel of his gun.)
DOYLE: I don't like threats unless I make them. Now, watch and learn.
(Doyle moves superfast as Bozim's thugs step forward, until she ends up
behind them.)
DOYLE: Hello, boys.
(And punches their lights out.)
LUNAH: Okay, I'm impressed.
DOYLE: Okay. And my price just went up.
[Burial
ground]
(They go
through a pair of gates in a high wall into a place like the Wall of
Remembrance in Boyagen.)
FLAVIN: You know what this is? Where you are?
HUNT: Yes. It's a Vedran burial ground. This is hallowed ground. Only
true Vedrans and their families are buried here.
FLAVIN: Vedrans, true souls of the universe, in repose here. Or maybe
they're just dust.
(Hunt spots a special inscription.)
HUNT: This is my father. And my mother. Why would they be buried here?
I mean, they were born on Tarn Vedra, sure, but they're not true
Vedrans.
FLAVIN: Not your mother, no.
HUNT: I know my father. He wasn't a true Vedran any more than I have
four legs.
FLAVIN: Heard of evolution, have you? Who says four legs are better
than two? That's what Vedrans realised and evolved into, into this.
HUNT: You're a Vedran.
FLAVIN: Like your father.
HUNT: That's, that's impossible.
FLAVIN: Paradine are evolved Vedrans. We walk on two legs through the
universes.
HUNT: Okay, Flavin, no more riddles.
FLAVIN: Riddles? If I wanted to confuse you, dear one, oh, how I could.
HUNT: Why, huh? Why do you keep playing these stupid mind games?
FLAVIN: You're out of time.
HUNT: No, you're out of time. I'm sick and tired of this crap. Now, you
tell me what's going on, or get the hell out of my life.
FLAVIN: You can walk around saying you don't know what a Paradine is,
but you better get moving, figure it out, because if bad is a sunny
day,
you're in for third degree burns.
HUNT: I'm not even going to ask what that means. (beep) Go ahead, Beka.
BEKA [OC]: Dylan, looks like Lunah's bully boys have caught up to us
again. You'd better get back here pronto.
HUNT: On our way.
[Town]
BOZIM:
She'll kill us all, Doyle will.
RHADE: Not me.
BOZIM: I pay you for protection, so protect.
RHADE: Are you dead yet? Then I'm doing my job.
BOZIM: What I'm wondering, Rhade, is, are you afraid of her?
RHADE: Look, Bozim, if I'm going to die tomorrow, I might as well enjoy
myself today.
BOZIM: Yeah. While I foot the bill.
RHADE: That's how we do it here on Seefra.
[Planet
surface]
HUNT:
Wait a minute. This is where we came in. Where's the cave mouth? It
should be here.
FLAVIN: You lead, I follow. I'm not in this particular loop.
HUNT: This is starting to feel like a test, and I hate tests.
FLAVIN: You're testing yourself.
HUNT: No, I didn't bring us here.
FLAVIN: Here? Where are we?
HUNT: It never ends.
FLAVIN: Don't seek a path, Dylan. Let's simply walk together, neither
of us leading the other.
HUNT: Fine.
(They walk out of the night on to a ledge in broad daylight, and look
across to a city.)
HUNT: It's Tarn Vedra, before the fall of the Commonwealth.
FLAVIN: Over three hundred years ago, give or take a handful. If you
walk there, your family would be waiting.
HUNT: Sara.
FLAVIN: Is there. This is your test. Do you know where in time you are?
Is it before or after your battle to save the Commonwealth?
(The city disappears.)
HUNT: I was in that battle. It already happened.
FLAVIN: Or has yet to happen. You were there, true, and you were here
and elsewhere. You're a Paradine, Dylan. That changes the rules.
HUNT: No, but Trance lifted us from the battle with the Worldship. She
took us all through the Route of Ages.
FLAVIN: And placed you where? Trance had all of you to track down, to
move, in an instant.
HUNT: So she got it right, except for one thing. Time.
[Town]
(Rhade
meets Doyle by Flavin's ship.)
RHADE: Give me Lunah's key. Save yourself a world of pain.
DOYLE: Give me Bozim's key and I won't kill you.
RHADE: I won't be as easy to kill as these idiots.
DOYLE: But I will kill you.
RHADE: Unless, of course, I kill you first.
(Their conversation is monitored by two men.)
DOYLE: You might be fast, Rhade, but I'm faster and you're probably
drunk.
RHADE: I am not. I am relaxed. How much is Lunah paying you?
DOYLE: Half of what's inside. You?
RHADE: I am not drunk.
BOZIM: Half? Half? She wouldn't give me half, the skank.
(Both eavesdroppers get pain through their headphones.)
BOZIM: What?
(Rhade returns to Bozim.)
RHADE: The price just doubled.
BOZIM: I won't pay. Never!
RHADE: Lunah will. Then both Doyle and I are on her side. Think about
it.
[Saloon]
LUNAH:
You're crazy. I don't pay that much for anybody. Nobody, not even you.
DOYLE: I'm not nobody.
LUNAH: Wait. All right, all right. You are low.
DOYLE: Thanks.
[Town]
(Bozim
pays Rhade.)
RHADE: That's short.
BOZIM: It's not.
RHADE: Give a guy a break. Do you want the other key or not?
BOZIM: I'm beginning to think and wonder whether it's worth it.
(And hands over the balance.)
RHADE: First thing, hide that.
[Saloon]
LUNAH:
Hide it? Why?
DOYLE: Because Rhade is about to come looking for it. Any fool can
knock you over the head and take it from you.
(Doyle places Lunah's key in a lidded pot and puts it in Harper's
safe.)
DOYLE: You've got to be smart. Get everyone ready.
(And when they have gone to fight outside -)
HARPER: And now, the Harper gets a piece of the action one key at a
time.
(He drops the pot.)
HARPER: Oops!
[Town]
LUNAH:
Bozim, you idiot, give up!
(Harper sneaks up and cuts into a sandbag.)
HARPER: Key number two, come to papa. Bingo.
(He joins Rhade by Flavin's ship.)
HARPER: All right, I got both keys, but I've been thinking. And now I'm
thinking we need to go fifty fifty on all the tech.
RHADE: What? That's robbery.
HARPER: Well, it's my way or the fly way, chump.
RHADE: You little thief.
(Harper threatens a key with a microlaser.)
HARPER: Ah, ah, ah, ah.
RHADE: fine.
(Harper makes his way to Doyle.)
HARPER: So, fifty fifty, right?
DOYLE: Fifty fifty? All you did was steal them.
HARPER: And delivered you a message.
DOYLE: All right, fine.
(Harper gives her a key.)
DOYLE: You mean I could have just shot you for this?
HARPER: No. You're still programmed to protect me.
DOYLE: True.
BOZIM: I win! I win! Whoo ha ha ha! I've got the other key.
DOYLE: Excuse me. I've got to even the score.
BOZIM: Rhade found it in a jar! Whah ha ha ha! I got your key, loser.
(Doyle gives Lunah the other key.)
LUNAH: Hmm! You lose, pimple nose. I've got your key.
[Eureka
Maru]
BEKA:
Dylan, I'm picking up some hazy readings. We haven't lost these guys
yet. Flavin, you sure brought some craziness down with you.
HUNT: Beka, you have no idea. Come on, Beka, hold it steady.
BEKA: What do you think I'm trying to do here? It's not easy. Oh,
great. The engine's stuttering.
[Saloon]
HARPER:
Thirsty work, getting killed, huh?
FLECKS: You shut up.
DOYLE: Rhade is the best I've ever seen. We're stuck.
LUNAH: Unless
DOYLE: Unless what?
[Town]
RHADE:
Doyle may be even too strong for me.
BOZIM: I paid you a fortune to kill her.
RHADE: You paid me to get the treasure. I can still do that. Are you
familiar with the concept of sharing?
BOZIM: Sharing?
[Saloon]
LUNAH:
With him? You want me to split two ways?
DOYLE: Four ways. Rhade and I get a share.
HARPER: Ahem.
DOYLE: Five ways.
[Town]
BOZIM:
Not on your life.
RHADE: You mean your life. Split the treasure without killing each
other. It'll make you look very smart.
BOZIM: All right. Okay. I work with Lunah. Open the hatch.
RHADE: Good.
BOZIM: But then we kill her.
[Saloon]
LUNAH:
And then we kill him.
[Town]
(The two
sides line up, bearing grubby white flags.)
RHADE: Truce.
DOYLE: All right. Now no one can go for a weapon.
RHADE: You will both approach the craft slowly, at the same time. You
will insert the key at the same time.
(They do. After a few moments, an alarm sounds but the hatch does not
open.)
BOZIM: Liar!
LUNAH: Thief!
(Lunah draws her gun. Then everybody draws.)
BOZIM: I should've killed you when I had the chance.
LUNAH: Take your best shot, Chunky.
RHADE: It's true.
(The two factions separate, shooting.)
[Eureka
Maru]
FLAVIN:
Trance is the trouble, you know. I only talk about what is true.
HUNT: Trance is a friend, Flavin.
FLAVIN: What can I say? You're going to wish she wasn't here.
BEKA: Dylan, would you like me to lay in a course for the Andromeda?
HUNT: I don't know. Would I like her to do that, Flavin?
FLAVIN: May I?
(Flavin touches some controls.)
FLAVIN: On to the present, dear one.
[Command]
FLAVIN:
Impressive.
HUNT: It's my only real home.
FLAVIN: For the present.
TRANCE: Hello. So you're the one who's been causing Dylan so much
trouble.
FLAVIN: I think it's you, my dear.
HUNT: All right, that's enough. Just tell me what's going on here.
FLAVIN: Tarn Vedra had a sun once. A great beauty. Not these two measly
heat lamps. So when the Vedrans moved the planet, they left something
behind. And if you think it's tricky moving a planet, wait till you see
what comes next.
[Town]
(The
gang fight continues, and we start to get fatalities.)
LUNAH: I'm going to kill you, you tub of lard. You're dead to me, you
hear me?
BOZIM: I want you dead!
[Command]
ANDROMEDA
[on viewscreen]: Incoming communication from Harper.
HUNT: Onscreen.
HARPER [on viewscreen]: Er, Dylan? Things are getting a little out of
control. I mean, Rhade and Doyle said they could take care of it, but I
don't know.
HUNT: Harper, I'm stuck here.
HARPER [on viewscreen]: Well, hello? Lunah? Bozim? Gangsters? What was
the Vedran word for help? I mean, we are still pals, aren't we?
HUNT: To the bitter end, yes. There's nothing I can do. Beka's on her
way to you.
HARPER [on viewscreen]: Great. Great. Thanks for nothing, pal. See you
in the next life.
ANDROMEDA [on viewscreen]: Harper terminated.
HUNT: Bad choice of words.
TRANCE: He's scared.
[Town]
(Harper
comes out of the saloon, gun blazing.)
BEKA: Harper, duck! So whatever you end up with, I get fifty percent.
HARPER: What? You said thirty.
BEKA: That was before I was being shot at.
HARPER: Forget it.
BEKA: I don't have to help.
HARPER: Fine, fine, fifty percent. Fifty percent of thirty.
BEKA: Huh?
[Command]
HUNT: I
can't get down to him from here.
FLAVIN: Time to use your heart. You have what you need, Dylan. Travel
as a Paradine. With a little help from Trance and my old wheezy self,
we could probably give you a head start.
HUNT: You said she's the problem.
FLAVIN: We've come to that space, dear one, between what you've won and
what you've lost. She'll know what to do.
TRANCE: I'm willing to try, Dylan.
FLAVIN: That's the spirit. Operate in the present. You've got it, dear
one. Let your feelings guide you.
(They all disappear in a shower of light.)
[Town]
(The
hatch to Flavin's ship starts to open, and Lunah and Bozim point their
guns at it. Hunt walks out and shoots the weapons out of their hands
with his twin forcelances.)
HUNT: Nothing in here for either of you.
BEKA: Well, Flavin was right. This is a surprise.
HARPER: But, you. Okay, how did you get in there?
HUNT: Just living in the present.
HARPER: Okay, don't start talking like Trance.
[Saloon]
(Trance
is tossing a coin.)
TRANCE: Tails. Tails. Tails. Tails.
HUNT: That's four in a row.
TRANCE: Actually, it's fifty seven. Tails.
HUNT: Trance.
TRANCE: Tails. It's getting boring.
HUNT: Actually, it's amazing.
TRANCE: Like Flavin said, some things just are. Tails.
HUNT: You and Flavin, you er, were in on this together, weren't you?
TRANCE: I don't think so. I mean, I, I don't know him. He has a sweet
face, though. Tails.
HUNT: Some things just are, huh? Like I'm the guy who puts things
right. I'm the one who has to stay behind so the Paradine can run with
their tails between their legs.
TRANCE: Well, actually, Dylan, Paradine don't have tails. Tails.
HUNT: No, I don't suppose they do.
TRANCE: Tails!
HUNT: I just get tired sometimes, Trance, you know? I just get tired of
always being the go to guy.
TRANCE: Maybe you should take a nap. Tails.
HUNT: I think you just hit it right on the head.
TRANCE: No. Actually, tails.
HUNT: It's so simple when you put it like that. It is what it is. Thank
you, Trance.
TRANCE: You're welcome.
(She flips the coin and Hunt catches it.)
