[Machine shop]

HARPER: Found this in a damaged section of the Methus diagrams. It's in two parts.
(An image of eight planets lining up on one side of the suns, with one planet on the other.)
HUNT: Show me part two.
(The eight planets explode in sequence.)
HUNT: Okay, this doesn't seem like something we want to happen.
HARPER: To me, this looks like a line of defence, or some sort of giant, awesome braking system. The Vedrans, man, they sure like to think big, even when their tech didn't work.
HUNT: A braking system for what? Something with incredible mass, like Trance.
HARPER: You think?
HUNT: The Vedran sun, Trance's sun, coming to join Tarn Vedra once and for all. Well, Mister Harper, there are a lot of people on those eight planets.
HARPER: And Trance is the star attraction.
HUNT: Yeah.

[Saloon]

(A cloaked figure enters. It is Sembler, the former owner.)
SEMBLER [memory]: On the house.
RHADE [memory]: Why?
SEMBLER [memory]: Like to know who's in the place.
(He sees Doyle behind the bar. She pours him a drink.)
SEMBLER: I liked you better in pink.
DOYLE: I know you, but
SEMBLER: Yeah, I heard. I'm dead.
DOYLE: Welcome back to life.
(He looks up at the painting.)
SEMBLER [memory]: Fine woman, despite her temper.
DOYLE: I'm thinking you want Harper.
SEMBLER: Yeah, I want him, and then I want my bar. It's good.

[Eureka Maru]

(Being shot at in an asteroid belt.)
BEKA: Damn water pirates. They're going to keep this up until we're out of fuel.
RHADE: You're risking our lives far too much.
BEKA: You call this risk?
RHADE: Oh, you're right. Fifty thousand gallons of water delivered under fire for free. That's not risk, it's death by bleeding heart.
BEKA: Wells are drying up all over our system, Rhade. What are you going to do? People are dying.
RHADE: This is not our system. Our place is anywhere but here. I feel for the people, I do, but I can't commit suicide in their defence. Am I right?

[Machine shop]

HARPER: The only way to make this work is to fix that blinking sun, and I do not know how to fix a sun.
(Doyle enters.)
HARPER: Who's watching the bar?
DOYLE: New girl's got it. You have a visitor. Your old pal, Sembler.
(Harper takes a step back.)
HARPER: Sembler?
HUNT: Sembler?
DOYLE: He's really mad and he wants his bar back.
HARPER: He was supposed to stay dead.
HUNT: Deal with him after you deal with this. Fix what's wrong with that sun. Meanwhile, we've got eight planets to evacuate.
(Comms beep.)
HUNT: Hunt here.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Captain.
HUNT: Andromeda, I am only in the mood for good news.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: I am detecting extreme proton radiation drom the outer edges of the Seefra system. Spectral interference is rising.
HUNT: How is that good news? Show me.
(Harper works a small screen.)
HARPER: We've got an incoming. Temperature, mass, and speed, they're growing exponentially.
DOYLE: What is that?
HUNT: A reminder that we are always in the wrong place at the wrong time.
(The Route of Ages gateway appears and a stream of superhot gasses come out, then coalese into a spinning ball.)
HUNT: Trance's sun, and she's headed right for us.

[Saloon]

HARPER: Don't tell Sembler where I am.
DOYLE: Understood.
HARPER: Or where I am.
DOYLE: Okay.
HARPER: I mean, the thing I mean is about Sembler, you've got to understand, he's
(Right behind them.)
HARPER: My buddy! Man, I've been looking for you.
SEMBLER: So is Master Thux. Now, you remember him, don't you?
HARPER: Thux. Thux?
SEMBLER: He found out that we faked my death.
HARPER: We? Wait a minute. I don't see how this has anything to do with me.
SEMBLER: I'm going to offer him this bar for my life.
HARPER: What? No way. This bar is worth way more than your life. No offence. And you gave it to me. It's mine. Those were our terms.
SEMBLER: Those terms are changing.

[Command]

TRANCE: Finally, I'm home. It's my other self. Dylan, this is my radiant body, passing by to take its place by Tarn Vedra.
HUNT: Yeah, the Vedrans made the Seefra system to stop it at the right location.
TRANCE: So that Tarn Vedra can be reborn.
HUNT: The machine's not working, Trance. Your sun won't stop where it should, which means it will destroy everything in this system, including Tarn Vedra.
(Trance collapses.)
HUNT: Trance? Trance! Trance? Andromeda, prep Med deck.

[Eureka Maru]

RHADE: Hang on. I'm picking up a massive photon release from the edges of Seefra.
BEKA: I'm kind of busy here, Rhade.
RHADE: Head towards it. It'll break up communications between the attackers.
BEKA: Or burn us to a crisp. Not very Nietzschean, but I like it. Hang on.
RHADE: Okay, RF interference rising. They'll lose communication in three, two, one. Firing away.
(Their attackers are shot down.)
RHADE: Bye, bye, bad guys.
BEKA: Okay. Let's quench some thirst.
(They take a good look at the new sun.)
RHADE: Look at that.
BEKA: I know. What the hell is that?
RHADE: That's exactly what it is. Hell.

[Saloon]

THUX: Harper! I want Harper!
(Harper is sitting at the bar.)
THUX: Harper.
HARPER: Thux, buddy. I see you're still on the all protein diet, and you brought your girlfriends.
(Thux's dogmen snarl.)
THUX: Ocham Sembler. Where?
HARPER: Er, name rings a bell but er, last I heard he was worms' meat.
THUX: No. He lives.
HARPER: I guess, if you want to call that living.
THUX: I want Sembler. No Sembler, you die. Come!
HARPER: Nice seeing you.
(Thux and his thugs leave.)
HARPER: He's gone.
(Sembler comes out from behind the bar.)
HARPER: And I get the distinct impression that giving him the saloon, it ain't going to do the job.
SEMBLER: You've got to hide me, Seamus.
HARPER: Oh no, I've got better things to do, like er, oh, yeah. Living.
SEMBLER: Hey, now, we're pals, right? What about the Burberry twins?
HARPER: Don't look at me like that, and nice try. The Burberrys weren't twins. Were they?
SEMBLER: What about the Skooze races?
HARPER: All right. All right, fine. I know a place. No one'll find you, but not another word about the Skooze races.
SEMBLER: Skooze me.

[Med deck]

HUNT: Andromeda, what's Trance's temperature?
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Trance's core temperature is nine hundred and ninety one degrees.
HUNT: Nine ninety one? But, why is it fluctuating between ninety and a hundred and ten?
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Probability is she's retaining heat to protect you.
HUNT: Trance, I hope you can hear me. I know you don't mean us harm, but the truth is, if you don't get better you're going to kill all of us.

[Vedran chamber]

HARPER: Hello? Orlund? Orlund?
ORLUND: Who goes there?
HARPER: Hey, big guy. It's me? Harper. You mind pointing that thing somewhere else?
ORLUND: Harper. Welcome to my corner of the planets. Tell me, how is Dylan? He is my captain, my hero, my mentor, my ideal. He is everything I aspire to be, Everything noble and brave. He embodies the spirit of adventure.
HARPER: Orlund! This is Sembler. He needs a place to hide out for a while.
SEMBLER: Not for long, just until er. What is this place?
ORLUND: A Vedran built passage to the other eight planets, and I am its keeper.
SEMBLER: These doors take you straight to other planets? How?
ORLUND: You wouldn't understand, but, from here, you could hide anywhere in the whole system.
SEMBLER: Techno. Our curse.
HARPER: Actually, it's most likely what's going to save us all.
SEMBLER: How does it work?
ORLUND: Well, these crystals are the keys. HUNT [OC]: Harper.
HARPER: Dylan?
ORLUND: Dylan?
HUNT [OC]: Harper, I need you on Andromeda.

[Corridor]

HUNT: Trance has fallen ill.

[Vedran chamber]

(Behind their backs, Sembler is stealing the keys.)
ORLUND: Trance, the princess is in danger?
HUNT: Her temperature's at fourteen hundred degrees.

[Corridor]

HUNT: Get those crystals up here. Maybe they can reduce her fever.

[Vedran chamber]

HARPER: Good idea. We can use them as beam-splitters. Reflect the energy back into itself.
(Orlund turns round and sees Sembler leaving.)
ORLUND: The crystals!
HARPER: Er, one second, boss.
(Sembler shuts the door on them.)

[Corridor]

HUNT: Harper, what's going on?

[Vedran chamber]

HARPER: I don't think we'll be getting those crystals

[Corridor]

HARPER [OC]: Any time soon, boss.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: RF interference from the Vedran sun. Signal is breaking.
HUNT: Harper, I need those crystals.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Signal lost. Comm terminated.

[Vedran chamber]

HARPER: I can't hear him. Can you hear him?
ORLUND: I can't hear him.

[Briefing room]

HUNT: What have you got?
DOYLE: The spectrum fluctuation is caused, I believe, by Trance rejecting herself. Trying to stop or slow down the approach of her sun. Somewhere inside, at her core probably, she's protecting you still.
HUNT: And it's killing her. Andromeda, locate Beka and Rhade.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Locating.
DOYLE: Trance cannot win this battle. Visual contact with the Maru is not possible due to high photon radiation.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Audio contact in three, two. Dylan, I've located them.
BEKA [OC]: Dylan, we've delivered the water, and we're on our way back now.
HUNT: No, you're not.

[Eureka Maru]

BEKA: We're not? Why not?

[Briefing room]

HUNT: Because now I want you to pick up something hot.
RHADE [OC]: Well, we're in the right place for that.

[Eureka Maru]

RHADE: There's some kind of solar plume that's causing all this interference.

[Briefing room]

HUNT: That's exactly what I want you to get and bring back here.

[Eureka Maru]

BEKA: The plume.
HUNT [OC]: Not all of it. Just

[Briefing room]

HUNT: Scoop some plasma. Use magnetic containment.

[Eureka Maru]

HUNT [OC]: Hook it up to a probe.
BEKA: Okay, so you're going to send the specs on that?

[Briefing room]

HUNT: You'll figure it out.

[Eureka Maru]

BEKA: Erh, okay. No problem.
HUNT [OC]: I don't have time to explain, Beka

[Briefing room]

HUNT: But Trance's life, hell, all of our lives depend on it.

[Eureka Maru]

HUNT [OC]: So don't argue, just

[Briefing room]

HUNT: Do it. Hunt out.

[Eureka Maru]

BEKA: It's been a pleasure talking to you, too.

[Vedran chamber]

HARPER: Man, for being so smart, Vedrans sure make things unnecessarily complicated.
ORLUND: What would Dylan do? What would he do?
HARPER: Something heroic, unexpected, counterintuitive, brilliant.
ORLUND: I got nothing.
HARPER: Took the words right out of my mouth.

[Maru engine room]

BEKA: You know, this would go faster with two.
RHADE: I'm not going to help you commit suicide, and or kill me in the process.
BEKA: You know, if we don't work together, we're going to die in this place. You still don't get that, Rhade?
RHADE: I get the part about dying, Beka. Let's just say, because of a recent turn of events, my Nietzschean side has come front and centre.
BEKA: I am talking about self-preservation, Rhade.
RHADE: You're talking about saving everyone. Dylan's plan. Evacuate all the planets to Seefra One. Let me tell you something. Very soon, it's going to be every man for himself. If Andromeda finds a way out of here, I say we take it, and not worry about the rest of the system.
BEKA: Now you're starting to sound Nietzschean again.
RHADE: You don't understand. Matriarch. I find it difficult, Beka. Difficult to say, to believe, to reconcile within myself.

[Med deck]

(Trance is in a cryogenic tube.)
DOYLE: Her internal temperature has reached twenty two hundred. External is six fifty two, being held at two fifty due to cryogenic containment.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Captain, I have an intermittent hail from Harper.
HARPER [OC]: Dylan?
HUNT: Harper, talk to me.

[Vedran chamber]

HARPER: Oh, finally. I jacked into the Vedran system to get a signal out.

[Med deck]

HUNT: I'm still waiting on those crystals, Harper.
HARPER [OC]: Don't hold your breath. Sembler took them and he locked us both in here.

[Vedran chamber]

HARPER: Me and Orlund, both. Sorry, boss.

[Med deck]

HUNT: Doyle's on her way down.

[Vedran chamber]

HUNT [OC]: Hunt out.

[Med deck]

HUNT: Find those crystals.

[Vedran chamber]

(Doyle enters.)
HARPER: I loosened it. I know. Pure, unadulterated Harper.
DOYLE: I get the unadult part. Come on, Dylan needs us.
ORLUND: He needs me?
DOYLE: Yes, even you.
HARPER: Like I need a knife in the head. Come on, we've got to get those crystals.

[Med deck]

TRANCE 2: Trance. Come out of there.
TRANCE [OC]: But I will destroy the ship.
TRANCE 2: But our sister has come home. You have waited. So has she. So long. Come.

[Saloon]

ORLUND: I could help you find the crystals. I'm attuned to them, hypersensitive.
HUNT: This may put you in harm's way.
ORLUND: I am ready to serve at your side, Captain. Make adventures, make brilliant plans to save the princess.
HUNT: This is serious stuff, Orlund. You have to understand that.
ORLUND: Understood.
HUNT: Yeah, well, there's understanding and there's understanding.
ORLUND: I understand.
HUNT: Good.

[Town]

ORLUND: The crystals are nearby. I can feel them.
(He bumps into a passerby.)
HUNT: Hey, hey, hey, hey. Lesson number one, pick your fights. Wait.
(They see Sembler handing over the crystals to Thux.)
ORLUND: Is that a fight?
HUNT: Let's find out.

[Thux's HQ]

THUX: I already don't like you.
ORLUND: Thux, you fool. Don't you know who he is?
HUNT: Lesson number two. Keep your mouth shut. Thux, I have a proposition for you.
(Thux pushes past Hunt.)
THUX: What did you say?
ORLUND: You can't push him like that. Don't you know who he is? He's Dylan Hunt.
(Hunt is making what? faces at Orlund. Thux turns around.)
THUX: Oh, really.
HUNT: Yeah. Yeah, it's me.
(Thux takes a swing at Hunt, who ducks it. His punch has no effect on Thux.)
HUNT: Uh oh.
(So he takes on the thugs instead while the dogmen hold Orlund back. It does not go well for Hunt.)
ORLUND: Leave him alone!
HUNT: Lesson number three. Oh, who am I kidding?

[Cell]

(Sembler is already there, unconscious, when Orlund is thrown in.)
ORLUND: Are you alive? Are you animals? This man needs a med tech! Dylan will get us out.

[Thux's HQ]

(Hunt is still being punched whilst tied to a chair.)
THUX: How do I travel between planets? And where do I put the crystals?
HUNT: That would be where the sun never shines, pal.
THUX: That's rude.

[Cell]

ORLUND: There's a way out. There must be. A vent shaft, a corrupt guard. Of course. The daughter. Thux has a nubile daughter. I seduce her, she sneaks us a weapon.
SEMBLER: Thux doesn't have a daughter.
ORLUND: There's always a daughter.
SEMBLER: Even if he did, why would she hang around a prison?
ORLUND: Your problem, my friend, is hope. There's always a way. Dylan has a plan. I know it.
(The unconscous Hunt is dragged in, then the thug takes Sembler.)
SEMBLER: No. No, don't. No, no! Please! I don't know anything.
ORLUND: Hey, if you want him, you have to deal with me first.
(Orlund tries punching a thug, but hurts his hand. He gets a fist in the solar plexus for his trouble.)
ORLUND: Right. You're just resting, right?

[Eureka Maru]

(Heading for Trance's sun.)
RHADE: If it wasn't so dangerous, I'd say it was beautiful.
BEKA: We have to see it as part of Trance.
RHADE: Then Trance may kill us all.
BEKA: Rhade, that's enough. Trance, our Trance, is a gentle, kind soul who's been our friend for years.
RHADE: Your friend for years.
BEKA: Try extending your loyalty this much past your own skin.
RHADE: I used to overextend my loyalty. Now it extends as far as it needs to.
BEKA: I'm here to save Trance's life. What the hell are you doing?
RHADE: I'm here to protect you.
BEKA: Bringing us around. Bearing one three six and slowing.
RHADE: You find that amusing?
BEKA: I find that downright funny. What's the status on the magnetic probe?
RHADE: We have to get significantly closer before we can launch.
BEKA: Well, yes. I asked if it was ready.
RHADE: It is.
BEKA: What.
RHADE: From this point on, our radiation exposure and heat exchange become critical.
BEKA: Yes. Why are you telling me what I already know?
RHADE: Because I want you not to do it.
BEKA: Does this, by any chance, have anything to do with Drago Museveni?
RHADE: Until I have proof otherwise, you are the female Progenitor of the Nietzscheans. You must be protected at all costs.
BEKA: So, what, you want to start calling me grandma?
RHADE: I cannot allow you to risk your life.
BEKA: We're saving Trance. That's what we're doing.
RHADE: Not if it endangers your life. Understand me, Beka. This goes against my conscious will.

[Med deck]

ANDROMEDA [OC]: Trance, this is Andromeda. Can you hear me?
TRANCE: Yes, Andromeda.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Your temperature is not diminishing.
TRANCE: I can feel it rising.
ANDROMEDA [on screen]: Internal temperature, two thousand eight hundred and five degrees. External, seven hundred and twelve.
TRANCE: That's not the problem.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: It is for the cryocapsule. If you continue at this rate, it will not be able to accomplish heat exchange.
TRANCE: I don't feel like I have a fever. I feel like I'm, I'm splitting into pieces.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Does it hurt?
TRANCE: I hope that Beka and Rhade are okay.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: And that their mission will be a success.
TRANCE: I know that they'll do the best they can. That's all anyone can ask for.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Sometimes, that proves to be insufficient.
TRANCE: But it's not polite to say so.

[Eureka Maru]

RHADE: Hull temp nearing the red.
BEKA: That's the way we like it.
RHADE: Beka.
BEKA: Steady as she goes.
(Rhade turns off the ship's power.)
BEKA: Hey, what the?
RHADE: I cannot let you sacrifice us.
BEKA: No one tells me how to make my choices. Reconnect me to my power supply.
RHADE: You have a greater duty.
BEKA: Okay, let me get this straight. You see me as Queen Mother Nietzschean, Is that right?
RHADE: You are Matriarch, yes.
BEKA: So you're, like, my subject, my vassal? Without me, you wouldn't be, is that right?
RHADE: Also true.
BEKA: So, I'm the Queen, and you're some cheap spinoff of my DNA.
RHADE: I wouldn't go that far.
BEKA: You have to do what I say, right? Telemachus Rhade, out of Majorum by Rhade. Is that true?
RHADE: Yes, Matriarch, If you order it, it is true.
BEKA: Okay, then. Consider yourself ordered. Give me control of my ship. We're going to launch that probe and return with what Trance needs to survive, and that's final.
(Rhade obeys.)

[Town]

(Trance's sun is big in the sky.)
DOYLE: These people are terrified.
HARPER: Yeah, well, doom and destruction has a way of bringing that out in people. How are we supposed to find Dylan?
DOYLE: And the crystals, don't forget.
HARPER: Let it go, will you? Haven't you ever made a mistake?
DOYLE: Not one that threatened nine planets and millions of lives.
HARPER: Doyle, as hot as you are, you do nothing for my self image.
DOYLE: Find the crystals. That'll make you feel better.
THUG: Master Thux Wants to see all strangers.
HARPER: Does Thux thuck his thumb, you think?
DOYLE: It's a pothibility.
(Doyle knocks out two thugs.)
HARPER: Thankth. Theriouthly.

[Cell]

(Hunt wakes.)
ORLUND: How do you feel?
HUNT: Well, the doctor says I'm well enough to punch you in the face.
ORLUND: Ha, ha! That's the way. A well timed joke to lighten the spirit.
HUNT: Yeah.
ORLUND: Did you see? Does Thux have a daughter?
HNT: You know, it er, it never really came up in our conversations. But he does have the crystals.
ORLUND: Dylan.
HUNT: Yeah?
ORLUND: They took Sembler. He was here before you arrived.
HUNT: That's not good. Okay, follow my lead.
ORLUND: Right. I know what I'll do. I'll
HUNT: Orlund!
ORLUND: Yes?
HUNT: Look at me.
ORLUND: Okay.
HUNT: Now, listen to me.
ORLUND: Okay.
HUNT: Follow my lead.
ORLUND: Follow your lead.
HUNT: Don't talk.
ORLUND: Okay.
(They both lie on cots.)
HUNT: Shush.
(Two thugs bring Sembler back.)
ORLUND: What have you done to him?
(Hunt kicks one thug's light's out, and Orlund deals with the other.)
HUNT: That was a good job, But you still didn't follow my lead.
ORLUND: I didn't?
HUNT: No, but that's what I was counting on. Sembler. Sembler? He's dead.
ORLUND: That's not possible.
HUNT: Damn it. Okay, we have to go.
ORLUND: He's dead? He can't be dead.
HUNT: You wanted adventure? Now you got it. Come on.

[Town]

ORLUND: They killed him. Why?
HUNT: People like that always find a reason.
ORLUND: And people like us? How do we keep going? This is not how I thought it would be, this adventure thing.
HUNT: This is war. People die. Family, friends, innocent bystanders. It happens.
ORLUND: This happened to you?
HUNT: Yeah. Beka, Rhade, Harper, even Trance, We've all lost someone precious.
ORLUND: And you continue, despite the loss.
HUNT: Because of the loss.
ORLUND: Right. So, we escape.
HUNT: It was too easy getting out. There was no alarm, no pursuit. Thux wants us out so we'll lead him to the chamber.
ORLUND: Of course. The crystals are in this direction.
HUNT: See, you catch on fast. You're going to do just fine with this adventure thing.
ORLUND: Yeah?
HUNT: Yeah.

[Eureka Maru]

RHADE: Hull temp is critical. I repeat, critical.
BEKA: Almost in position now. Just a little closer. Get ready to fire the drone.
(A flare hits the Maru.)
BEKA: I've lost control.
RHADE: Damn it, Beka!
BEKA: Fire the drone. Do it now.
RHADE: Drone is away and on course.
BEKA: Reroute all power to attitude thrusters.
RHADE: Done.
BEKA: Okay, steady. Got it. And now we're on our way to pick up the drone.
RHADE: Drone has entered the solar prominence. I've lost contact.
BEKA: That's normal. There's too much electromag. You should be getting a signal in about four, three, two
RHADE: Got it. The drone is returning.
BEKA: Did it get a plasma sample?
RHADE: Reading indicates yes. Yes, we did.
BEKA: Okay. Trance, here we come. I just hope we're not too late. And you, loyal subject. Thank you for coming along for the ride.
RHADE: I wouldn't have it any other way.
BEKA: A girl could get used to that.
RHADE: I may never get used to it. But it is my duty, even if Dylan himself interferes.

[Med deck]

ANDROMEDA [OC]: Trance, I cannot contain your temperature much longer.
TRANCE: Andromeda, you have to help me. I'm so cold.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: That cannot be.
TRANCE: I'm freezing.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Warning. The cryocapsule is failing. Warning. The cryocapsule is failing. Warning. The cryocapsule is failing.
(Trance finds herself standing in Med deck, looking at herself in the cryocapsule. The second, cloaked Trance is also there.)
TRANCE: Am I dead?
TRANCE 2: Not dead, no.
TRANCE: I was freezing and burning up at the same time.
TRANCE 2: Two sides of the same thing.
TRANCE: The unity of opposites. I remember that.
TRANCE 2: There are many things you will remember when we are together again, sister.
TRANCE: I don't think I can join you.
TRANCE 2: We offer you joy everlasting. A beginning, an end.
TRANCE: Oh, I wish I could remember. Tell me again, what will end?
TRANCE 2: All that you love.

[Town]

DOYLE: No Dylan, no Orlund.
HARPER: And no crystals. You know, if we split up, we might cover more ground.
DOYLE: Gotcha. Be safe.
(And a few yards behind them -)
ORLUND: The crystals are er. I think they're in here. All the way over to the left. Back in that corner.
HUNT: Right. Okay. You stay here and watch my back.
ORLUND: Your back. Right. Got it.
HUNT: Good. I'm serious. You stay right here. Watch my back, nothing else, okay?
ORLUND: Okay. Your back. Nothing else.
HUNT: Yeah.
(Hunt deals with a thug.)
ORLUND: Yes! Well done.
(Hunt signals Orlund to keep watch.)
HUNT: My back.
ORLUND: That's Doyle. Stay here. Watch his back. His back. That's Harper. I have to get their attention. Stay here, stupid! Think. What would Dylan do?
(Thux and his brace of mandogs are coming up behind him.)
ORLUND: Okay. Maybe I'd better go.
(Orlund throws a stone at Thux, hitting him on the head.)
THUX: Kill him!
(Orlund runs into a dead end.)
THUX: You'll die slowly.
ORLUND: I'm not scared.
(Thux lets his mandogs get within an inch of Orlund.)
THUX: Oh? How about now?
ORLUND: Ah! Okay, now I'm sacred.
HUNT: Thux! Think before you hurt him. Just let him go, and we'll talk, otherwise you will lose everything.
(Hunt has the crystals.)
THUX: This is my town now. And in my town, we play by my rules.
(Guns appear either side of Hunt's head.)
HUNT: Didn't see that coming.
(Hunt is pushed to his knees.)
THUX: No one tells me what to do.
HUNT: Listen, Thux, you can still walk away from this, okay? You just let us go, and we'll let you live.
ORLUND: See that? I love that. Even in the face of death
THUX: Silence!
HUNT: Thank you.
THUX: I'm going to count to three. And by two, you drop the crystals, or by three, you'll be dead.
HUNT: Just standing up here, guys, okay? All right, crystals going in the bag.
(Harper and Doyle take up concealed positions. Hunt throws the bag to a thug.)
HUNT: Here you go. You win. I'm not half the man you think you are.
THUX: I'm still counting, and by three you die. One, two three!
(Hunt ducks, and the thugs either side of him shoot each other. Then he gets out his forcelances. Harper and Doyle join in the shooting. It is over quickly.)
HARPER: Heel.
HUNT: Oh, Thux, Thux, Thux. Doesn't it just suck when the bad guys lose?
(Thux lunges at Hunt, who dodges. Thux falls on his bracer, and the mandogs slowly turn on him.)
HUNT: Not working, huh? Hey, don't look at me. It's kind of cute when they turn on you.
(The mandogs chase Thux round the corner.)
HUNT: Yeah, this show has gone to the dogs.

[Command]

HUNT: Andromeda, status on Trance.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: I'm detecting microfractures in the cryocapsule.
HARPER: At those temperatures, micro can go macro pretty darn fast.
DOYLE: She'll burn a hole through the ship.
HUNT: Then it's time to move her out of here.
ORLUND: She'll die in space.
HUNT: No. Space is her natural environment. Andromeda, launch pod.
(The cryochamber flies out into space.)

[Eureka Maru]

BEKA: Ready here.

[Command]

HUNT: All right, give her lots of room. We're fooling around with solar activity.
DOYLE: Sending you an intercept vector.

[Eureka Maru]

BEKA: Got it. And launching.
(The probe with the solar plasma is released from the Maru's cargo pod.)

[Command]

HUNT: Time to impact?
DOYLE: Twenty seconds.
HARPER: You think maybe we should move back a little? I mean, we're dealing with an event of unknown magnitude here.
HUNT: I'm with you, Mister Harper. Andromeda, move us away at full speed please, and advise Beka.
ANDROMEDA [OC]: Moving and advising.
ORLUND: Good luck, my princess.

[Nowhere]

(Trance steps out of the cryochamber. Cloaked Trance appears.)
TRANCE 2: It is not in our nature to fight one another.
TRANCE: I remember now everything. I wanted to help my dear friends.
TRANCE 2: Their fate is not your concern.
TRANCE: I can't believe that. I will not let that be so.
TRANCE 2: You have been around organics too long. It has changed you.
TRANCE: Only for good.
TRANCE 2: Come back to us. The nebula demands it.
TRANCE: No.
TRANCE 2: Dylan's fate is irrelevant to ours.
TRANCE: I will not believe that.
TRANCE 2: That is your choice, but it does not affect the final outcome. It will only affect your own punishment.
(The probe and cryochamber impact and explode.)

[Command]

ORLUND: Oh, no. We've killed her!
HUNT: She's tougher than you think.
DOYLE: EMP wave coming fast.
HUNT: You might want to hold onto something.
ORLUND: What?
(Bang! Orlund gets thrown back.)
HARPER: New guy.
DOYLE: Rebooting. We're back up.
HUNT: Beka, status?

[Eureka Maru]

BEKA: Well, we're fine.
RHADE: What about Trance? Could she survive?
HUNT [OC]: Only one way to find out.

[Command]

HUNT: Let's go get her.

[Briefing room]

TRANCE: Dylan?
HUNT: Ah, Trance. Welcome back.
TRANCE: It's good to be back, thanks to all of your efforts.
HUNT: We did it because we love you.
TRANCE: Yes, I can see that. But what about the future?
HUNT: I thought that was your department.
TRANCE: But I want to know your thoughts, your feelings.
HUNT: We'll survive, Trance, as long as we're all working together. How about you? You okay?
TRANCE: I remember, Dylan. Everything.
HUNT: Well, that's good. That's the best news I've heard in a long time.
TRANCE: You were warned about me.
HUNT: Yes, I was. Tarn Vedran sun. Your sun. We'll stop it in time. We'll find a way.
(Hunt leaves.)
TRANCE: Yes, I'm sure we will. But that's not what I mean. Not what I mean at all.
