1 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ δεύτερος κλῆρος τῶν υἱῶν Συμεων καὶ ἐγενήθη ἡ κληρονομία αὐτῶν ἀνὰ μέσον κλήρων υἱῶν Ιουδα 2 καὶ ἐγενήθη ὁ κλῆρος αὐτῶν Βηρσαβεε καὶ Σαμαα καὶ Κωλαδαμ 3 καὶ Αρσωλα καὶ Βωλα καὶ Ασομ 4 καὶ Ελθουλα καὶ Βουλα καὶ Ερμα 5 καὶ Σικελακ καὶ Βαιθμαχερεβ καὶ Σαρσουσιν 6 καὶ Βαθαρωθ καὶ οἱ ἀγροὶ αὐτῶν πόλεις δέκα τρεῖς καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν 7 Ερεμμων καὶ Θαλχα καὶ Εθερ καὶ Ασαν πόλεις τέσσαρες καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν 8 κύκλῳ τῶν πόλεων αὐτῶν ἕως Βαρεκ πορευομένων Βαμεθ κατὰ λίβα αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Συμεων κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν 9 ἀπὸ τοῦ κλήρου Ιουδα ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Συμεων ὅτι ἐγενήθη ἡ μερὶς υἱῶν Ιουδα μείζων τῆς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐκληρονόμησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Συμεων ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ κλήρου αὐτῶν

1 The next lot which was drawn was that of Simeon; and the lands assigned to them were 2 interspersed among those of Juda; namely Bersabee, Sabee, Molada, 3 Hasersual, Bala, Asem, 4 Eltholad, Bethul, Harma, 5 Siceleg, Bethmarchaboth, Hasersusa, 6 Bethlebaoth and Sarohen, thirteen cities in all; 7 also Ain, Remmon, Athar, and Asan, four cities in all with their dependent villages. 8 All the villages round about these cities, down to Baalath-Beer-Ramath in the south, belonged to the clans of Simeon, 9 being part of the territory allotted to Juda, which was too large for them, so that they must needs share it with Simeon.

1 Et egressa est sors secunda filiorum Simeon per cognationes suas: fuitque hæreditas 2 eorum in medio possessionis filiorum Juda: Bersabee et Sabee et Molada 3 et Hasersual, Bala et Asem 4 et Eltholad, Bethul et Harma 5 et Siceleg et Bethmarchaboth et Hasersusa 6 et Bethlebaoth et Sarohen: civitates tredecim, et villæ earum. 7 Ain et Remmon et Athar et Asan: civitates quatuor, et villæ earum: 8 omnes viculi per circuitum urbium istarum usque ad Baalath Beer Ramath contra australem plagam. Hæc est hæreditas filiorum Simeon juxta cognationes suas, 9 in possessione et funiculo filiorum Juda: quia major erat, et idcirco filii Simeon possederunt in medio hæreditatis eorum.

10 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος ὁ τρίτος τῷ Ζαβουλων κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν ἔσται τὰ ὅρια τῆς κληρονομίας αὐτῶν Εσεδεκ 11 Γωλα ὅρια αὐτῶν ἡ θάλασσα καὶ Μαραγελλα καὶ συνάψει ἐπὶ Βαιθαραβα εἰς τὴν φάραγγα ἥ ἐστιν κατὰ πρόσωπον Ιεκμαν 12 καὶ ἀνέστρεψεν ἀπὸ Σεδδουκ ἐξ ἐναντίας ἀ{P'} ἀνατολῶν Βαιθσαμυς ἐπὶ τὰ ὅρια Χασελωθαιθ καὶ διελεύσεται ἐπὶ Δαβιρωθ καὶ προσαναβήσεται ἐπὶ Φαγγαι 13 καὶ ἐκεῖθεν περιελεύσεται ἐξ ἐναντίας ἐ{P'} ἀνατολὰς ἐπὶ Γεβερε ἐπὶ πόλιν Κατασεμ καὶ διελεύσεται ἐπὶ Ρεμμωνα Αμαθαρ Αοζα 14 καὶ περιελεύσεται ὅρια ἐπὶ βορρᾶν ἐπὶ Αμωθ καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος αὐτῶν ἐπὶ Γαιφαηλ 15 καὶ Καταναθ καὶ Ναβααλ καὶ Συμοων καὶ Ιεριχω καὶ Βαιθμαν 16 αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Ζαβουλων κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν πόλεις καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν

10 The third lot drawn was that of Zabulon; their territory began at Sarid, 11 and went out in the direction of the sea through Merala and Debbaseth to the stream that flows past Jeconam. 12 From Sarid eastward it passed through the confines of Ceseleth-Thabor to Dabereth, climbing up into the hill-country at Japhie; 13 thence it made its way east by Gath-Hepher and Thacasin to Remmon, Amthar, and Noa. 14 It took in Hanathon in the north, and went out as far as the valley of Jephtahel, 15 Cateth, Naalol, Semeron, Jedala, and Bethlehem; thus twelve cities with their dependent villages 16 made up the portion granted to Zabulon; both town and village were theirs.

17 καὶ τῷ Ισσαχαρ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος ὁ τέταρτος 18 καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν Ιαζηλ καὶ Χασαλωθ καὶ Σουναν 19 καὶ Αγιν καὶ Σιωνα καὶ Ρεηρωθ καὶ Αναχερεθ 20 καὶ Δαβιρων καὶ Κισων καὶ Ρεβες 21 καὶ Ρεμμας καὶ Ιεων καὶ Τομμαν καὶ Αιμαρεκ καὶ Βηρσαφης 22 καὶ συνάψει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ Γαιθβωρ καὶ ἐπὶ Σαλιμ κατὰ θάλασσαν καὶ Βαιθσαμυς καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῦ ἡ διέξοδος τῶν ὁρίων ὁ Ιορδάνης 23 αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Ισσαχαρ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν αἱ πόλεις καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν

17 The fourth was the lot of Issachar; 18 it included Jezrael, Casaloth, Sunem, 19 Hapharaim, Seon, Anaharath, 20 Rabboth, Cesion, Abes, 21 Rameth, Engannim, Enhadda, and Bethpheses, 22 and reached as far as Thabor, Sehesima, and Bethsames, so as to make Jordan its boundary; sixteen cities in all, with their dependent villages 23 made up the portion granted to Issachar; both town and village were theirs.

24 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος ὁ πέμπτος Ασηρ 25 καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν ἐξ Ελεκεθ καὶ Αλεφ καὶ Βαιθοκ καὶ Κεαφ 26 καὶ Ελιμελεκ καὶ Αμιηλ καὶ Μαασα καὶ συνάψει τῷ Καρμήλῳ κατὰ θάλασσαν καὶ τῷ Σιων καὶ Λαβαναθ 27 καὶ ἐπιστρέψει ἀ{P'} ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου καὶ Βαιθεγενεθ καὶ συνάψει τῷ Ζαβουλων καὶ ἐκ Γαι καὶ Φθαιηλ κατὰ βορρᾶν καὶ εἰσελεύσεται ὅρια Σαφθαιβαιθμε καὶ Ιναηλ καὶ διελεύσεται εἰς Χωβα μασομελ 28 καὶ Ελβων καὶ Ρααβ καὶ Εμεμαων καὶ Κανθαν ἕως Σιδῶνος τῆς μεγάλης 29 καὶ ἀναστρέψει τὰ ὅρια εἰς Ραμα καὶ ἕως πηγῆς Μασφασσατ καὶ τῶν Τυρίων καὶ ἀναστρέψει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ Ιασιφ καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος αὐτοῦ ἡ θάλασσα καὶ ἀπὸ Λεβ καὶ Εχοζοβ 30 καὶ Αρχωβ καὶ Αφεκ καὶ Ρααυ 31 αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Ασηρ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν πόλεις καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν

24 The fifth was the lot of Aser; 25 their territory was round about Halcath, Chali, Beten, Axaph, 26 Elmelech, Amaad and Messal; it reached along the sea as far as Carmel and Sihor-Labanath, 27 and eastwards it went through Bethdagon to the frontier of Zabulon and the valley of Jephthael. Then it went northwards to Bethemec and Nehiel, with Cabul on the left, 28 to Abran, Rohob, Hamon, and Cana, where it marches with greater Sidon. 29 Thence it turned back through Horma towards the great fortress of Tyre, reaching as far as Hosa, and coming down to the sea again where it touches Achziba. 30 It also took in Amma, Aphec, and Rohob; twenty-two cities with their dependent villages 31 made up the portion granted to Aser; both town and village were theirs.

32 καὶ τῷ Νεφθαλι ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος ὁ ἕκτος 33 καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν Μοολαμ καὶ Μωλα καὶ Βεσεμιιν καὶ Αρμε καὶ Ναβωκ καὶ Ιεφθαμαι ἕως Δωδαμ καὶ ἐγενήθησαν αἱ διέξοδοι αὐτοῦ ὁ Ιορδάνης 34 καὶ ἐπιστρέψει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ θάλασσαν Εναθ Θαβωρ καὶ διελεύσεται ἐκεῖθεν ιακανα καὶ συνάψει τῷ Ζαβουλων ἀπὸ νότου καὶ Ασηρ συνάψει κατὰ θάλασσαν καὶ ὁ Ιορδάνης ἀ{P'} ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου 35 καὶ αἱ πόλεις τειχήρεις τῶν Τυρίων Τύρος καὶ Ωμαθα Δακεθ καὶ Κενερεθ 36 καὶ Αρμαιθ καὶ Αραηλ καὶ Ασωρ 37 καὶ Καδες καὶ Ασσαρι καὶ πηγὴ Ασορ 38 καὶ Κερωε καὶ Μεγαλα Αριμ καὶ Βαιθθαμε καὶ Θεσσαμυς 39 αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Νεφθαλι

32 The sixth was the lot of Nephthali; 33 it stretched all the way from Heleph to Elon in Saananim, Adami, Neceb, Jebnael, and Lecum, with Jordan for its boundary. 34 Then the frontier turned westwards, at Azanoth-Thabor, and went out to Hucuca to meet the frontier of Zabulon on the south; on the west it marched with Aser, and on the east with Juda-beyond-Jordan.[1] 35 The fortified cities of Nephthali were Assedim, Ser, Emath, Reccath, Cenereth, 36 Edema, Arama, Asor, 37 Cedes, Edrai, Enhasor, 38 Jeron, Magdalel, Horem, Bethanath and Bethsames; nineteen cities with their dependent villages 39 made up the portion granted to Nephthali; both town and village were theirs.

40 καὶ τῷ Δαν ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος ὁ ἕβδομος 41 καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν Σαραθ καὶ Ασα πόλεις Σαμμαυς 42 καὶ Σαλαβιν καὶ Αμμων καὶ Σιλαθα 43 καὶ Αιλων καὶ Θαμναθα καὶ Ακκαρων 44 καὶ Αλκαθα καὶ Βεγεθων καὶ Γεβεελαν 45 καὶ Αζωρ καὶ Βαναιβακατ καὶ Γεθρεμμων 46 καὶ ἀπὸ θαλάσσης Ιερακων ὅριον πλησίον Ιόππης 47 αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Δαν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν αἱ πόλεις αὐτῶν καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἐξέθλιψαν οἱ υἱοὶ Δαν τὸν Αμορραῖον τὸν θλίβοντα αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ ὄρει καὶ οὐκ εἴων αὐτοὺς οἱ Αμορραῖοι καταβῆναι εἰς τὴν κοιλάδα καὶ ἔθλιψαν ἀ{P'} αὐτῶν τὸ ὅριον τῆς μερίδος αὐτῶν 48 καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ιουδα καὶ ἐπολέμησαν τὴν Λαχις καὶ κατελάβοντο αὐτὴν καὶ ἐπάταξαν αὐτὴν ἐν στόματι μαχαίρας καὶ κατῴκησαν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐκάλεσαν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς Λασενδακ καὶ ὁ Αμορραῖος ὑπέμεινεν τοῦ κατοικεῖν ἐν Ελωμ καὶ ἐν Σαλαμιν καὶ ἐβαρύνθη ἡ χεὶρ τοῦ Εφραιμ ἐ{P'} αὐτούς καὶ ἐγένοντο αὐτοῖς εἰς φόρον

40 And the seventh lot was that of Dan; 41 their territory included Sara and Esthaol, Hir-Semes (that is, the City of the Sun), 42 Selebin, Aialon, Jethela, 43 Elon, Themna, Acron, 44 Elthece, Gebbethon, Balaath, 45 Jud, Bane, Barach, Gethremmon, 46 Mejarcon and Arecon; its frontiers reached Joppe, 47 and went no further. But the Danites made an expedition against Lesem, and captured it; they exterminated the inhabitants, and occupied it as a colony of their own, calling it Lesem-Dan after the name of their ancestor. 48 These cities, with their dependent villages, made up the portion granted to the Danite clans.

40 Tribui filiorum Dan per familias suas egressa est sors septima: 41 et fuit terminus possessionis ejus Sara et Esthaol, et Hirsemes, id est, civitas solis. 42 Selebin et Ajalon et Jethela, 43 Elon et Themna et Acron, 44 Elthece, Gebbethon et Balaath, 45 et Jud et Bane et Barach et Gethremmon: 46 et Mejarcon et Arecon, cum termino qui respicit Joppen, 47 et ipso fine concluditur. Ascenderuntque filii Dan, et pugnaverunt contra Lesem, ceperuntque eam: et percusserunt eam in ore gladii, et possederunt, et habitaverunt in ea, vocantes nomen ejus Lesem Dan, ex nomine Dan patris sui. 48 Hæc est possessio tribus filiorum Dan, per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.

49 καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἐμβατεῦσαι τὴν γῆν κατὰ τὸ ὅριον αὐτῶν καὶ ἔδωκαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ κλῆρον Ἰησοῖ τῷ υἱῷ Ναυη ἐν αὐτοῖς 50 διὰ προστάγματος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτῷ τὴν πόλιν ἣν ᾐτήσατο Θαμνασαραχ ἥ ἐστιν ἐν τῷ ὄρει Εφραιμ καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τὴν πόλιν καὶ κατῴκει ἐν αὐτῇ 51 αὗται αἱ διαιρέσεις ἃς κατεκληρονόμησεν Ελεαζαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ τοῦ Ναυη καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες τῶν πατριῶν ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς Ισραηλ κατὰ κλήρους ἐν Σηλω ἐναντίον κυρίου παρὰ τὰς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἐμβατεῦσαι τὴν γῆν

49 When he had finished dividing up the land by lot among the tribes, the Israelites gave Josue the son of Nun lands of his own among the rest, 50 as the Lord had bidden them. He asked for the city of Thamnath-Saraa, in the hill-country of Ephraim, and built up its walls, and so dwelt there. 51 Such was the division of the land made by the high priest Eleazar, and Josue the son of Nun, and the chief men of Israel’s clans and tribes, there in Silo, in the Lord’s presence, at the door of the tabernacle that bore witness to his covenant.

49 Cumque complesset sorte dividere terram singulis per tribus suas, dederunt filii Israël possessionem Josue filio Nun in medio sui, 50 juxta præceptum Domini, urbem quam postulavit Thamnath Saraa in monte Ephraim: et ædificavit civitatem, habitavitque in ea. 51 Hæ sunt possessiones, quas sorte diviserunt Eleazar sacerdos, et Josue filius Nun, et principes familiarum ac tribuum filiorum Israël in Silo, coram Domino ad ostium tabernaculi testimonii: partitique sunt terram.
