| 13 ἐν δὲ τῷ δέχεσθαι μέλη ἐκ χειρῶν ἱερέων καὶ αὐτὸς ἑστὼς πα{R'} ἐσχάρᾳ βωμοῦ κυκλόθεν αὐτοῦ στέφανος ἀδελφῶν ὡς βλάστημα κέδρων ἐν τῷ Λιβάνῳ 14 καὶ ἐκύκλωσαν αὐτὸν ὡς στελέχη φοινίκων καὶ πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ααρων ἐν δόξῃ αὐτῶν 15 καὶ προσφορὰ κυρίου ἐν χερσὶν αὐτῶν ἔναντι πάσης ἐκκλησίας Ισραηλ καὶ συντέλειαν λειτουργῶν ἐπὶ βωμῶν κοσμῆσαι προσφορὰν ὑψίστου παντοκράτορος 16 ἐξέτεινεν ἐπὶ σπονδείου χεῖρα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔσπεισεν ἐξ αἵματος σταφυλῆς 17 ἐξέχεεν εἰς θεμέλια θυσιαστηρίου ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας ὑψίστῳ παμβασιλεῖ 18 τότε ἀνέκραγον οἱ υἱοὶ Ααρων ἐν σάλπιγξιν ἐλαταῖς ἤχησαν ἀκουστὴν ἐποίησαν φωνὴν μεγάλην εἰς μνημόσυνον ἔναντι ὑψίστου 19 τότε πᾶς ὁ λαὸς κοινῇ κατέσπευσαν καὶ ἔπεσαν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν προσκυνῆσαι τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτῶν παντοκράτορι θεῷ ὑψίστῳ 20 καὶ ᾔνεσαν οἱ ψαλτῳδοὶ ἐν φωναῖς αὐτῶν ἐν πλείστῳ ἤχῳ ἐγλυκάνθη μέλος 21 καὶ ἐδεήθη ὁ λαὸς κυρίου ὑψίστου ἐν προσευχῇ κατέναντι ἐλεήμονος ἕως συντελεσθῇ κόσμος κυρίου καὶ τὴν λειτουργίαν αὐτοῦ ἐτελείωσαν 22 τότε καταβὰς ἐπῆρεν χεῖρας αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν ἐκκλησίαν υἱῶν Ισραηλ δοῦναι εὐλογίαν κυρίου ἐκ χειλέων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ καυχήσασθαι 23 καὶ ἐδευτέρωσαν ἐν προσκυνήσει ἐπιδέξασθαι τὴν εὐλογίαν παρὰ ὑψίστου |
13 There he stood, by the altar, with the priests handing him their portions, every one, for sacrifice; and all these standing about him were but Lebanon cedars standing about Lebanon, 14 were but as palm branches growing from their parent stem, all these sons of Aaron in the splendour of their attire. 15 Theirs to hold out, before assembled Israel, the offerings made to the Lord; and he, completing his task at the altar, for the due observance of the great King’s sacrifice, 16 would reach out his hand for the cup, and with the grape’s blood offer libation. 17 And as he poured out at the altar’s foot its consecrated fragrance, 18 loud shouted the sons of Aaron, loud the silver trumpets blew; great was the cry raised to win God’s audience. 19 And with that, down fell all the people, face to earth, worshipping the Lord their God and pouring out their prayers to him, the Almighty, to him, the most High. 20 The singers, too, broke out into chants of praise; sweetly their voices echoed through the wide courts; 21 nor would the people leave off their praying to the Lord, the most High, till the divine praise was completed, and all their duty done. 22 And then Simon would come down, his hand outstretched over the assembly of Israel, a blessing on his lips, and his heart proud to serve such a Master; 23 and so fell to prayer again, for the better manifesting of God’s power. |

In accipiendo autem partes de manu sacerdotum,
et ipse stans juxta aram:
et circa illum corona fratrum:
quasi plantatio cedri in monte Libano, 14
sic circa illum steterunt quasi rami palmæ:
et omnes filii Aaron in gloria sua. 15
Oblatio autem Domini in manibus ipsorum
coram omni synagoga Israël:
et consummatione fungens in ara,
amplificare oblationem excelsi Regis, 16
porrexit manum suam in libatione,
et libavit de sanguine uvæ. 17
Effudit in fundamento altaris
odorem divinum excelso Principi. 18
Tunc exclamaverunt filii Aaron,
in tubis productilibus sonuerunt:
et auditam fecerunt vocem magnam in memoriam coram Deo. 19
Tunc omnis populus simul properaverunt,
et ceciderunt in faciem super terram,
adorare Dominum Deum suum,
et dare preces omnipotenti Deo excelso. 20
Et amplificaverunt psallentes in vocibus suis,
et in magna domo auctus est sonus suavitatis plenus. 21
Et rogavit populus Dominum excelsum in prece,
usque dum perfectus est honor Domini,
et munus suum perfecerunt. 22
Tunc descendens, manus suas extulit
in omne congregationem filiorum Israël,
dare gloriam Deo a labiis suis,
et in nomine ipsius gloriari: 23
et iteravit orationem suam,
volens ostendere virtutem Dei. |
